Annabel has been nursing since 1992, commencing as a student nurse at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. In 1995 she graduated as a registered nurse and commenced work on the Medical Oncology ward. In 1996 Annabel transferred to the Bone Marrow Transplant ward. In 1998 she completed a graduate certificate in Oncology Nursing and in 1999 a graduate certificate in Clinical Teaching.

In 2000 Annabel moved to Sydney and started work on the Haematology ward at St Vincents, later moving to the Cell Separator/Apheresis unit. In 2003 she was appointed as Clinical Nurse Consultant for Bone Marrow Transplant. In 2004 Annabel completed a graduate certificate in Apheresis Nursing, in 2007 a graduate certificate in Transfusion Medicine and in 2009 a graduate certificate in Applied Ethics.

In 2013 Annabel was seconded to write a business case for the redevelopment of the St Vincent’s Haematology inpatient ward, a project that involved major fundraising, capital works and the temporary transfer of inpatient services to Xavier 8 North ward. The newly refurbished 20 single room ward opened in 2018.

In 2018 Annabel completed a Masters of Clinical Nursing (Oncology).

Since August 2022 Annabel has been the Acting Nurse Manager Cancer Stream.

Annabel is committed to the provision of excellent care for patients with cancer including those from rural areas, building strong teamwork and partnerships in care and education and to expanding access to cancer clinical trials to improve patient outcomes.
