Dr Andrew Yam
Dr Andrew Yam is a Medical Oncologist clinician at The Kinghorn Cancer Centre, specialising in genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers. Dr Yam also has appointments as a clinician-scientist at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and the University of New South Wales.
Dr Yam completed his PhD investigating how a type of immune cell (neutrophil) can be enhanced and how immunotherapies can be improved using bacteria. He hopes this work will improve patient outcomes and direct future therapies. His research is published in international peer review journals and supported by the Phil Salter Immuno-Oncology Fellowship, National Breast Cancer Foundation and PanKind Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation.
